Quality isn’t great. We have had them a year and the paint is chipping. One broke when my daughter sat down in it. She’s 105 pounds. We all sit in the same chair for meals so that’s “her” chair. No way should she be able to break it. A few of them have chips. The backs are all wiggly and you can’t tighten them.
About a year ago, we ordered 2 sets because we loved the color and high back design. Constructing the chairs was very easy and we thought we had made a good investment for our home.Just a few weeks later and the seat base started to wobble. It is entirely unclear how to rectify this as the only screws are in the foot rails, so we've endured the wobble.Then the backs of 3 fell off. We've glued them back, but we were only partially successful. We discarded 1 chair after our daughter kept falling through the chair back and ordered another set.Out of 6 chairs, in 13 months we have discarded 2, and have 4 wobbly chairs left with unsecure backs and chipped paint after everyday gentle use.So very sad that these did not work out.
Overall the look and feel of these chairs is good. Unfortunately under normal use 2 of our 6 chairs have broken in areas that seem the most supported. I believe we may have just gotten a couple defective in our shipment, but wanted to warn that it is a possibility. We would upgrade our rating if they were replaced to be like the other 4 that we are happy with. The picture shows the middle spindles that fractured.
These chairs were the perfect upgrade for our dining room table. They took time, but were easy enough to assemble. They are incredibly sturdy and surprisingly comfortable for wooden chairs.
I bought four of these chairs before and they worked out great. Easy to put together, accurate website description, and have held up a year now. HOWEVER, I recently purchased two more and was dissatisfied. Waited a week for them to arive, opened them and found the back poles were detached from the seat. Such a waste of time and now I have to lug this heavy box to UPS to return them and start over. **UPDATE** After lugging these chairs back to UPS to return, I ordered a new set and guess what? The new set is cracked too! (See third pic)I needed these chairs for Thanksgiving and it’s too close to the holiday to return them AGAIN so I guess I’m stuck with them. And I’m just over trying to package them back up and return again. The seller doesn’t seem to care. I’d never buy these again and do not recommend to anyone because of the poor quality and hassle. So disappointing.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
