I use this desk in a guest room /home office. I like the extra knee room compared to many such desks. The extra room is from not having a keyboard/junk drawer at the knee hole. There is a junk drawer, nice file drawer and a shelf on the right side; all are functional. In my office I added a separate 2 drawer file cabinet which blends nicely with desk and can hold my printer. This is my 2nd sauder desk. Good quality products. Assembly was easy.
Nice clean deskntop
Overall, this is a pretty solid and great looking desk. However, the issue with many mass produce furniture, is that some pieces do not align perfectly. For the price, I expected a little bit more. Sauder used to be produce better quality furniture.
This desk is the worst piece of crap I’ve ever had the misfortune of trying to assemble. I’ve had some experience assembling flatpack furniture before, so I’m not a newbie, but this was an exercise in frustration. The quality of the materials is terrible and I spent 3 hours putting it together, only to find that it was defective. I warn any customer against buying this desk. At least Amazon is good about refunds so not all was lost.
This desk is exactly what I wanted. It's solid and doesn't shake or move when I jar it or grab the edge to pull my chair up to it. It's also deep, 25 inches from me to the wall, so I have plenty of room to have my laptop and keyboard and maybe a notepad in front of me. I can also stretch my legs out straight under the desk with plenty of room. Spacious in width too, I'm not cramped for space to move around. It was simple to assemble, some reviews mention you need two people but I assembled it by myself. The only tricky part was fastening the top on, the directions say to set everything upright and then attach the top, I had to tip the desk on its back to attach the top and had no trouble doing it that way. It's a beautiful desk, it looks like real walnut in appearance and texture and you have to look very close to see it's not. The drawers roll very smooth. I especially love how the front and left side are open so you can access wall outlets. Very pleased with this desk.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
