It is a beautiful shelf and we were lucky to get it at a good price.The directions were clear. We deducted a star due to alignment of the cabinet doors. There were also issue while putting in the screws. The final product was not stable but thankfully the photo album put weight to keep it stable

Was pleasantly surprised by how good this bookcase is! It's incredibly sturdy; didn't need the safety strap as it doesn't wobble at all, even on my carpeted floor. The bookcase frame and shelves are also solid and thick, I appreciate the fact that it isn't as flimsy as most of the diy furniture I've found so far. Construction went pretty smooth too. I'm a tiny woman with NO skills when it comes to building stuff, but still managed to get it assembled by myself in one afternoon. Definitely worth the price.

I’ve bought and built four library with doors cabinets. The materials and workmanship are high quality. Given the complexity of the assembly, they are designed for the least possible hassle, and the instructions are clear and helpful. But I want to focus here on customer service. In a world that seems to go out of its way to fail its consumers on this front, Sauder gets it right. I got most of the way through assembling one unit only to realize that a door panel I hadn’t inspected was damaged and unusable. I had purchased the cabinet some 6 months earlier and procrastinated on building it, so I worried that any warranties would no longer be in effect, but I called the number on the instructions and was immediately greeted by a representative—yes, a living, breathing human being—who promptly took my information and shipped out a replacement door, no questions asked. I know this is a costly model for a manufacturer that could replace it for pennies on the dollar with an infuriating phone tree, but this customer will remember this standout experience.

This Sauder product is easy to put together, perfect to size, goes well with the August Hill desk by Sauder and was a great buy for 171. I took my time and Carefully followed the directions which were very clear. Door alignment requires a little understanding of how the hinges work. I'm sure you can watch a video if there's a problem. I was able to back out an adjustment and got great alignment! Build quality is great but know that it's not solid wood. Again, perfect for my office. Made with MDF and a sticker laminated surface. I now have three of these bookcases in my office. I’m using them to store all of my genealogy research and family notebooks.They’re very upscale looking and sturdy, I especially like how the doors fit so well on the first try. There was very little adjustment needed.The shelves are sturdy and generous in depth and height. And there’s a certain cool factor when you have three of these bookcases lined up like a real library!The assembly process is actually fun for a person like me who likes to put things together. Within interruptions, it took me about an hour to put the bookcase together, the only tools I needed was a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. For those who don’t especially like putting puzzles together, if you read the directions and follow them exactly, it goes very smoothly.One thing I have learned is, don’t question the process, the instructions are explicit. The materials provided are exactly what you need and assembly is really a fail proof system. If it doesn’t go together properly or you have parts left over it’s not Saunders‘s fault, you missed something or skipped a step!I would highly recommend these book cases!
